Play Date!

My new friend Patti and I decided to go ahead and put our kids together in the same room and see how it worked out.

Her son, Sullivan, is two years old, and quite the cutie patootie. He woke up from his nap to find a GIRL in his house, playing with HIS toys.

To which, as any red-blooded American 2-year-old would say "don't touch."

To his credit, he didn't scream "MINE!" repeatedly, which is what I would have done if I'd been in his shoes.

You see, my daughter, surprisingly, is NOT SHY.

And being 9 months old, and not really having a lot of kids around her, she also has NO CLUE anything is really wrong with having toys taken away from her.

She just gets another one.

And another one.

And another one.

At one point, she kept crawling towards Sully, who was trying to get away from her, until she basically backed him into a piece of furniture, and pulled herself up by HIS shirt.

"Don't touch!" he said.

I loved this picture...and I loved Patti's approach. At one point I asked if I should stop Nora, who was, for all intents and purposes, mauling her son.

"They've got to work it out."

Mkay.

And she is right.

But doesn't the look in that boy's eyes say, "Put down the camera and HELP ME Lady!"
